What am I looking forward to on my trip
I moved to Clarksdale 2 1/2 years ago. I found it to be very different from the Pacific Northwest where I am from. I am from Spokane, Washington. I love a lot about Spokane and I love a lot about Clarksdale. The three big differences between Clarksdale and Spokane I have found are the weather, demographics and culture. Mississippi is in the southern United States where the weather is a lot warmer throughout the year. The summers are hot and humid. The winters are mild with maybe one snow flurry. Spokane is further North and experiences four definite seasons. The winters usually have a lot snow. Summers are hot as well but a lot dryer. The racial makeup of Clarksdale and Spokane differ widely. Spokane is almost 86% caucasian. Clarksdale is 80% African American.
